A baby's cry

by barbara   Mar 1, 2008

Walking down the alley i heard a baby cry
at first i smiled at the child's precious sound
i came to an area behind a store that sold pie
and there he was laying hidden on the ground

attached to the blanket was a noted apology
from the parents of this child i assumed
"i had no choice the father left me"
and with that she left the boy doomed

my guess is the father was the one who worked
so without him the child would live poor
but how could this woman make him have greater worth
this child needed more love than ever before

she had options but acted in fear
an innocent child left to die
a small little bundle of cheer
sitting there alone as he cried

in the very least she gave him some chance
in the fact that she actually gave birth
other's live life in what appears to be trance
and don't bother to give life any worth

how is it murder is set as illegal
but abortion is simply okay?
i personally can't see much difference
and everyone else just looks the other way

This story is sad and written so emotionally
and the theme is very important
parents are responsible for their kids, for giving them normal life ans throwing a baby away is a crime in my opinion
i just didn't get why in the last stanza you talk about abortion whereas the whole story is about ( i don't know the exact word for this ;[ ) "throwing a child away"
but perhaps you meant that parents are responsible for their kids before and after they are born
anyways, this is very deep. made me think about this problem.
