One Regret

I'm so bummed out.
It's very stange
To walk about
with looming change.

I never knew
I cared so much.
I had no clue
You touched me such.

I thought you were
a distant friend,
but feelings stir
without end.

I fell at first,
but you were claimed.
And for my thirst
I was defamed.

So I went on
putting you down.
It was a con
To mask my frown.

And now you say
that you must go
On a near day.
My heart drops low.

Once said I see
How different
It will be;
How much you meant.

The good times that
I thought would come.
These thoughts just sat.
I feel so dumb.

I fell for one
I couldn't get.
But it was done.
My one regret.
