Covetousness

Lines 1,3 rhyme Lines 2,4 rhyme Lines 5 and 6 rhyme.

Ingenuously she walks into the room,
emanating resplendent command.
Heads turn, her beauty just like the moon.
They cannot acquire, like grasping at sand.
Hearts beating quick and pounding hard;
Oh how they covet what my heart guards.

Charcoal night becomes crushed and blown away by a brilliant moon levitating high above the blue stoic mountain range.
Footsteps fall in whispers across the rocky ridges, picking out a familiar path to the highest crest, a place built up from ancestral bones...
Onto the stage he steps...
a silhouetted wolf, standing proud, immersed in shared fleshed history.
There on a platform of inspired dreams he lifts his stout, black chin to the stars, drops open an armed jaw, waits for a breath, shrugs for a beat, then releases, a soul solidifying howl...
:
Yeah ah whoo-oo, yeah ah whoo-oo...

...sending a spell drifting over sleepy cardboard roof tops, across tramps shivering in doorways, smudged in political prose.
Joanie props a lamppost up and calls over to her friend talking to a punter "Hey Kimball, can you hear that...
"That's smokestack lightenin' up there, reaching out to those lost souls; feeling their pain, knowing their pulse and weaving it into golden silk for the gentry to wipe their shamed cheeked dollars on."
Kimball looks stunned, "that's deep Joanie, that's so deep!"
Traffic lights blink, sirens fade and the night finds itself in a town that will finally sleep the sleep of new birth
Yeah ah whoo-oo, yeah ah whoo-oo...
