Lost on the last ray of sunshine
But the happiness is never mine
Then some where in the nick of time
The door slams I hear the screams
No one try's to help
I run from my hiding place
Hurrying quickly no chance to see my face
I rush out of shadow like an arrow from the quiver
I was so gallant that night
I never knew I could fight
Ill never forget that day
Where I chased the bad guy's away
The one they all look down on
The one that they all pity
Saved the girl when no one else would
So don't you pity me
I may have no home or
Place to call my own but I can say I am a hero
Even For just that moment
I did what no one else could
dont look down on me for I can stand with my head held high
Can you for all the thing's you have
Your fancy cars Dress's or suit's your huge houses
Or the money in your pocket
Can you really say you are proud of your self
Well I can
I may look shabby in rags and dirt
I may not seem the merriest meet
But all I have is on my back
The only thing that takes me to the next place is my own
Two feet
But I know I have a strong and brave soul
But that was then this is now
The girl I saved wanted to repay me
I did not want to take her kindness but she would not have it
She gave me what no one else did
She did not pity me she never looked down on me
She gave me a chance
To change my life
Just an interview that is all
I got the job so few wanted
I did it well and climb by little
I have a high place now
I have a home
A wife, a car all of this is nice by far
But they will never be like
The feeling I had
Living under a bridge as
I ran to be the homeless hero
