Grieving

by Mike Wilburn   Mar 3, 2008

Mind and body, body and mind
Earthly vessel houses the spirit
Inside out, outside in
Introspective, demon within
Looking back in judgment
Ponder the past
Racked with pain

Sympathetic friends
Families poignant stare
Suffering distress emote
Sorrows cascading tears
Experience loves demise
Moans and whimpers
Question life and loss

Vindictive game; loser
Yearning emotional ache
Connection shattered
Brokenhearted anguish
Sweaty sleepless nights
Turbulent deliberation
Answers concealed

Bottomless pit, hells gate
Tortured psyche
Inferior spirituality
No end in sight
Surrender
Anger awakens
Meditative salvation

This was a very elequent venting poem. I love your vocabulary, and how artfully you use it to express yourself with a greater depth than most to on this site. You don't over use "big words," but your tasteful use of them really adds to your poetry.
