Under the Sycamore

by jack   Mar 3, 2008

I'd wait till morning
till the sun shone brighter than before
until the ivy grew deep
and the hedges shadowed over the stone court yard
just for you
i would wait under the sycamore
on the wooden swing were we shared our first kiss
I'd hold close to my heart
the picture of you

For you my heart aches
my head thrown back
i close my eyes and dream
of you and me, together again
in perfect harmony
forever starring into one another's eyes
hands clutched
in desperation and fear that we might part again
our fingers weave in between each others

The sun now fading
and the low light hits the crisp edge of the ivy wall
precious seconds wasting away
the birds sing and the warm air cools
knowing now that i have to wait again
to see your face
i slowly walk back to the sycamore
shedding a tear for the hundredth time
