Broken Pieces

Tonight is the first in a very long time,
That I've let myself cry over you.
I still can't believe you just up and left,
After everything we've been through.

No, it's not fair.. no, it's not right,
I wish love had a guide.
Because apparently I don't get it,
I thought I'd always be by your side.

I hate every single memory of you,
They're all just so painfully wonderful.
All of them, they break my heart,
Especially since you used me like a tool.

No one gets how much it hurt me,
They say you're a jerk, to get over it.
But how am I supposed to get over it...
When you didn't even love me a little bit?

Though you broke me, stomped on the pieces,
I honestly hope you find happiness.
You deserve it, really, you do,
You are something that's worth the miss.

Also, please... don't pity me,
Because whenever we were together...
I was the happiest girl alive,
Finally felt loved after forever.

You probably have someone new,
But remember, I do too.
He will pick up the broken pieces,
The entire mess left by you.

    Hun,
    I know how much you cared for Tyler, and I know it was hard to get over him... I also know you probably will never be totally and completly over him.
    However I am also glad that you have found another, one that will as you said clean up the mess[though you are not a mess hun, I will always be here to pick you up and dust you off] left by tyler.

    ^ i adore this stanza....because i'm kind of feeling it at 2 am about a friend....

    this poem is really sweet *no surprise* because it's like....forgiving. which doesn't shock me, coming from you.
    once again...your sweet heart amazes me...great job, darling.

    I love your rhyme scheme and it's well worded. I love the way you end this one with:
