The Forgotten War

by End of Neverland   Mar 4, 2008

I know I'm blind
to the years that haven't come.
I know I'm young
And I've got much to learn.
But one thing I know
And to one thing I cling to
Is that these people don't need to die
In this forgotten war.
The government sits
In their fancy leather chairs
While the people of their country
Die out there.
If they are so eager for war,
Let them shoot the guns,
Or fire the bombs,
And let our families come home.
We fight because it suits us
We're a peacock showing its feathers
Tainted in blood and dirt.
And what have we to show
When our soldiers die in combat
Over a long forgotten war
We shouldn't be fighting.
