Losing the fight

The beautiful brightness of life
is what they saw in her
but what they didn't see
is the pain she had to endure

For her life has been rough
since her mother died
and left her with her father
that never even cried

She feels so lonely
in a never ending pit
that gets worse and worse
when her dad has a fit

And no one ever noticed
the sadness from the sparks
that flew at night
to leave her marks

Now she's left there
cold as night
for she's like her mother
and lost the fight
