Sacrificial Love

He shed his blood that we might live,
Eternally with Him one day.
He's the only man to ever give,
His sinless life away.

He was beaten, mocked, and scorned,
With nine tails His flesh was ripped.
His side was speared and fiercely torn,
In the depths of Hell His soul was dipped.

He was beaten harshly, almost broken,
By the very men He longed to save,
Yet not one single word was spoken,
As to them His life He humbly gave.

They thought they proved this "Jesus" wrong,
But little did they know,
He'd get back up and walk along,
And the grave He'd overthrow.

These shallow men had not a clue,
His fate was not yet sealed.
For three days later it came true,
His prophecy revealed.

Now we the creature here below,
Can reach our God above,
For the Creator on us bestowed,
His Sacrificial Love.
