Haunting Mistake

A group of friends and I stumbled into,
a big old mansion in the middle of nowhere.
We decide to peak maybe find something new,
taking stuff we found, we really didn't care.

In the middle of daylight we make our way in,
through the front door with a smirk and a grin.
Wanting to be quick we each take our own room,
for this house is haunted by ghosts that consume.

As we enter each room the front door slams shut,
the windows are all closing, our light has been cut.
We all head for the front door in the main hall,
struggling to open as a voice starts to call.

A bright light appears from up on the second floor,
slowly moving forward Tom starts kicking the door.
As the light is upon us we just stop and stare,
the voice in the light is telling us to "beware".

Tom pounding on the door has moved to the window,
The voice says "Stop" and tells us "You can't go".
Tom scared and not paying attention to the voice,
raised up above our heads and said "There's no choice".

"Listen to me and you might make it out alive,
try to escape and you will never survive".
"You all have one task, one mission to complete,
do what I ask and I'll free you from my keep".

"For in this mansion five golden keys are hidden,
most areas have traps and signs that say (Forbidden)".
"I'll give you each a map to one hidden key,
return them to me and out that door you will be".

Looking at my map I see I've drawn the master bath,
I have four hundred paces down this dark lonely path.
Heading through the dinning room down a long hallway,
telling myself I'm stupid for leaving my bed today.

Reaching the door to the master bedroom I hear screams,
standing to the side as I turn the knob out pops a beam.
In the room stands this dark shadow holding the pole,
the attempt to take my life was surely his goal.

Into the room I slowly step as the ghost slides into the wall,
amazingly there are no cobwebs no dust bunnis, dust balls.
Finding the bathroom door already open as the light flickers,
the walls are all covered in old scratch and sniff stickers.

The map says the key is located in the toilets back tank,
This toilet covered in crap and piss the smell is really rank.
Pulling off the back cover to find black water no key I see,
Flushing the toilet removing the water which stinks like pee.

At the very bottom of the tank lies the key I'm searching for,
I grab it slowly out as something slams, it's the bathroom door.
If I place the key in the tank the door slowly opens up,
I try different things knowing theres a way and not giving up.

I figure out the puzzle how stupid am I, it's the keys gold,
So taking off my necklace and swapping for the key I now hold.
Out of the bathroom now I find the ghosts are more upset,
Out into the long hall making my way out before the sunset.

As I enter the dinning room I see Greg dead on the floor,
His body split in two halves, he was impaled by a door.
Stopping for just a second I then head for the exit,
In the main hall I run into Tom, killed by a hatchet.

Standing in front of the light holding out the key,
I'm told to turn right hoping to be set free.
When the voice tells me something I didn't want to hear,
"I must have all five keys before you can leave my dear".
