A Sweet Goodbye

I stand here, abandoned
by the people who are supposed to stand by me, always
pushed aside because I want to go my own way
follow my own weary path,

I cry each night
wishing to see my family again
to tell them I love them,
but they won't waste a single moment on me

So here I sit, alone
waiting for them to let me back in
I know I'm not the best kid in the world
but I just want to be me
not the person they wish me to be

Freedom costs so much
to a girl like me
If only it was priceless
Id still have my father by my side
to guide me through the rough waters of life

not suppress those feelings of release
but failure is my only back up
