One Word

by Just Lucy   Mar 6, 2008

If I could give an answer,
Just know one word to say,
I would write it out a million times
To give you that light... just a ray.

I can't say I know what you feel,
That pain you suffer each day,
Couldn't begin to imagine the hurt,
But I will do my best to send it away.

If I could sing a rainbow,
one of colors, dreams and lights,
Than I would sing it to the world,
No matter the range or height.

If I could give you all I have to give,
Like really give it all,
Than I would lay my spirit to rest
Anything to stop your fall.

I hate that I can't understand
The hell you have to live,
I hate that I can't always be there,
when your mind flows like a sieve.

And I hate that I can't find that word,
That one word to make it better,
If only such a thing existed,
To make these hard times lesser.

So this is what I've got...
7 stanzas of my thoughts,
28 lines of what I know,
and that one word I wish I'd caught.
