Dragons

by StandStill   Mar 7, 2008

Once upon a time
there was a maiden fair
who was lusted after
boys loved her lips, her hair

and once upon a time
she captured a boy's heart
he loved her
and they were never apart

but what the boy
did not know
was her secret
from which darkness did flow

and once in love
she had him there
enticed by her
golden hair

she turned around
and burned him deep
he realized he was
in the dragon's keep

the dragon in disguise
prayed upon an innocent prince
taking the time
to convince

the prince she did eat
and when in her stomach he did lie
he couldn't help but shed a tear
he had to cry

he didn't understand
the death fate had dealt
and he didn't understand
the feelings he still felt

so be wary now of dragons evil
take a lesson from the serpent's tale
for when looking for love
you are sure to fail
