There's a blank space on this paper
Where new words fail to form
Instead of new creative poems and words and lyrics
I find myself filling the blank space with the same old crap
What does one do when they find themselves in such a rut?
Write the same useless words that never seem to make the cut
I want to write something beautiful and touches the soul
I want it read by millions whose breath I have now stole
I want to be known
No more miss underappreciated and alone
Hear my words and recite them aloud
Declare my speech to the eager waiting crowd
Tell me I have beauty tell me I have depth
Tell me that my words can not compare to the rest
Though I try and I strive for passion expressed in poetry
I find no words flowing out the tip of my pen and the page before me empty
My name and words are left unheard
Still unappreciated, still nothing has occured
This page is left empty like the expression on my face
As I'm sitting here waiting for my inspiration to take place
I am left alone here, gazing into the blank space
Hey,
I love the subject of this poem. It's quite unique..I haven't seen one like this before. Success is one thing we all want. But poetry takes years to master, and even then sometimes it doesn't get the exposure it deserves. I have seen so many wonderful, moving poems from ordinary people, both on this site and in life in general, that haven't got the credit they deseve. This, however, should not be a reason to stop. You write beautifully, and there's no reason to stop. Think of writing as something you do for yourself. Write as if no one will read it..from the very depths of your soul. It's only then that it will amaze people.
And if in doubt think of Emily Dic.kinson whose poetry is receited by thousands across the country. Yet, she did not get any fame while she was alive. It all came after she was dead. In fact, she hardly got anything published while she was alive..and now look at her work.
All I'm saying is I hope you never give up.
I LOVED these lines the most
"Hear my words and recite them aloud
Declare my speech to the eager waiting crowd"
^The imagery there is great. I can picture it in my mind.
Great job on this poem. Keep it up! =]
