When the Wind Stands Still

by Aage Crow   Mar 7, 2008

Another cold and windless night
Leaves my heart in such a fright
Watching the embers of dying fire
I pray at my alter to the sire
Lightening cracks with the thunder roll
The rain beginning to take its toll
My candle slowly fades leaving me to dark
Waiting to hear Gods make their mark
Am I to die now in the shade
Snuffed out with sins unpaid
Pouring tears put out the flame
For every sin is in painful shame
Never will I rid myself of pain
Hell calls for my soul it wills to gain
Every moment a glance in the stair case
Looking for the stone statue with its mace
That demon with flaming lance
Some monster with evil glance
Forgive me my horrors and my sins
As I stick poppet with these pins
I aim to hurt those who once hurt me
But in the end I will see
That each curse I bless upon my foe
Will turn to leave myself in woe
I am the enemy I seek to kill
In the night when the wind stands still

Good, I really like it, but in the end are you the Devil?

I like the end line especially, yes. At times the rythm can be a tad forced, which is often the case, but otherwise, a good poem, well done. ^^
