Gone Forever.

by Daphne Darling   May 21, 2004

My feet stepping along in the dark,
Finding the foot holds to push me along,
No light reaching my eyes,
Yet still I can see everything,
All that passes me by as I walk along,
As a stick cracks,
My head shoots up to see,
I can’t see what made the noise,
But that is normal,
No one can see what comes,
No one will know until it comes,
If you could see into the future,
If you could, what would you see?
Would you believe it?
I don’t think so,
I don’t think anyone would,
They wouldn’t believe,
Not what is to come at least,
So walk along,
With your head held high,
I will not do the same though,
I cannot,
I will not,
I just want the dark to stop,
To stop haunting me,
So I can sleep,
Sleep in peace,
But you will not stop,
Curse the day you were made,
To haunt my every moment,
Go away from me,
Leave me the hell alone,
Let me walk in peace,
Let me live with out being scared,
Or one day,
One day soon,
I will no longer walk this path,
I will be gone forever.
