The tale of you and me.

by lilmermaid   Mar 8, 2008

You and me,
Our meeting was sheer coincidence.
You and me,
Our friendship was by absolute choice.

When life was cruel,
We cried together.
When life was superb,
We laughed together.
Life threw so many bends at us,
Somehow we managed to overcome it together.

From the very start,
We were the greatest of friends,
I thanked my lucky stars,
For bringing you into my life,
I believed that you were the best gift God ever gave me.

You were there for me,
Through it all,
The good and the bad,
The storms and the deserts,
Not even wild horses could have kept us apart.

The mails,
The text messages, and,
The phone calls,
Your every word touched my soul,
And is imprinted in my mind,
Forever to stay!

I thought we would always be together,
As friends forever,
But the day came,
When you left me and our friendship,
For love,
Part of me understands,
Yet some part of me does not,
How could you leave me?
How could you throw away our beautiful friendship?
How could you just walk away without a backward glance?
Even today it hurts,
Just like that day so long ago,
The pain did not dull,
Nor did the memories dim.

Despite the hurt,
I cannot hate you,
With every passing moment,
I cannot help but love you,
Nothing you do will make me love you any less.

I miss you,
I miss the laughs,
The never ending talks,
The goofy jokes,
They way you made me smile,
The rides we went on,
But most of all,
I miss being with you,
And feeling surrounded by your love.

I do not know when I would see you again,
I do not know when I would hear from you yet again,
But I do know this,
I would grin and bear it till you are in my life once again.

I will wait for you,
For the day you would come back,
Be it today,
Tomorrow,
Or even in death,
In the mean time I will love you from afar,
Friendship like ours does not die so easily,
For our friendship is filled to the brim with immortality.
