Bloody Tears

by Mike Wilburn   Mar 8, 2008

I lie alone confronting my fears
At times like this I cry bloody tears
Stainless perfection, a blade so bold
Will I still love you, will I grow old

I'm never surprised, I know what's expected
Cannot escape; becoming dejected
Tear soaked page, blood stained nails
If you asked me I won't divulge my tale

Vanquish my opponent help conquer my foe
I relish a moment without adversary
Silently whimper, inside I scream
Shelter my worry within I dream

Pray for hope, mute my feeling
Stay with me as I begin healing
Cycle again forward and back
Time again for my savage attack

Empathy here is not expected
Sympathy never would be preferred
Compassion maybe or reckless desire
Yearning flesh within my control

The damage is done, I'm no longer wanting
Please leave now I'm incredibly tired
Understand me not, you never should try
Kiss me goodnight and say goodbye
