On a california breeze

by StandStill   Mar 9, 2008

Memories
floating
on a california breeze

out on the ocean
a seagull cries
and the boat's rocking motion
is like a lullaby

the tears
running down their faces
are the shattered dreams
when you left us without grace

but you hadn't a choice
you had to go
but i miss your voice
i hope you know

and in heaven i hope
that you're watching me
and that as my grandfather
you're still proud to be

and i'll sit
and remember
these
memories
floating
on a california breeze
