Why'd it end so quickly?

Under the stars lay two friends.
There was one boy, and one girl.
They had no clue what lay ahead of them.
Not one faint idea.
They both knew that one day they would part.
But not like that.
They loved a love more than love.
No adult could understand them.
Every child was envious of them.
The two of them.
Together.
All the time.
They could never replace each other.
They wanted to die together, even if in a war.
They didn't want anyone or anything
To get in the way.
But that didn't stop their cruel fate.
It was a night when the boy was to propose to her.
He was nervous but excited.
The girl wanted to go meet him, for she was feeling uneasy.
She got on her bike and cycled to his house.
The boy ran out the door and was on his way.
While the girl was cycling, she hadn't ealized
That there was a bright light in front of her eyes.
She ignored it, and kept on going.
The light came closer to her.
Closer ... closer ... Brighter ... brighter.
Them all of a sudden, came the horrible noise of "Crash!"
Everything was moving so fast, it was hard to know what was happening.
A bright light made her squint very much,
And everyone was there with her,
Including the boy.
And in an instant after the bright light came closer,
The girl took her last breath and left everyone
To cry for her,
Except the boy who wondered,
Why'd it end so quickly?
