In The Open

by Aaron   Mar 9, 2008

I hear the soothing waterfall sound,
I look and notice no one's around.
I sit to get some peace of mind,
I search around but can not find.

Deeper I peer way inside,
I know it's there trying to hide.
I can not see it without the light,
But if light shines then it will fight.

If I find it after all this trouble,
Then I know we'll start to struggle.
I can not mend what I see torn,
I see the hate, wrath and scorn.

Now I'm standing way down low,
I hope my weakness will not show.
Down there in secret it is revealed,
That I am weak and have no shield.

So very quietly I try to sneak out,
I try so hard yet still I doubt.
Then the Lord showed me a revelation,
And now I know of my condemnation.

He came and saved me from my sin,
I finally feel like now I can begin.
The Lord gave me this cross as a token,
To bare with me back out in the open.
