You rose to this challenge so well. This is an amazing piece. I love your interpretation. The great agony Poe must have felt losing his love.

Dark one! Evil incarnate! Recant thee, Liar! Reprobate!
An angel is my sweet Lenore, again his answer "Nevermore"
Oh Death! thy scabbard find a mark, on final journey I embark
Love bleeds upon this gilded brand, I pray thee angel take my hand
He chortles! "Nevermore" with glee, Not even death can set me free
Into emptiness go I, lulled by Raven's lullaby

This stanza was a wonderful end to a awesome poem.

I have to admit that I'm completely impressed with this piece. I love your writing style and truly enjoy in your amazing poetry and this outstanding piece is definitely not an exception. So powerful, truly remarkable. I like the flow, every line flows excellently and you did superb job with rhymes.

I know you were referring to time passing but it made me happy you used that word instead of another since he also wrote The Pendulum and the Pit. This poem gets a five for sure.
