Sullen Fortress of Hope

by Gabba Gabba Hey   Mar 11, 2008

Guarding the sullen fortress of hope
you stand a soldiers stance
and fiercely, you protect
with a sword made of experiences
and a heart not yet broken
you guard it, yet you never enter
the fortress is for emergencies, you tell yourself
but when the emergencies come,
you still never enter
and in your frenzy, you strike yourself with the sword
only touching the fortress walls
to regain some marginal strength
and then you get up to protect again
the rest of us will wait for the day
when you are forced into the castle
and must partake of what you find therein
and never have to protect it from then on
for what you find is more powerful
than any spell of protection than you could find
