A year has come and gone
More hurt
And more heartache
Is sure to come

My Uncle Carl is now gone
Bone cancer took him
In mere days
14 to be exact

People say it gets better over time
But what they don't say is
It also hurts more over time
And I don't have time on my side

It gets harder each day
To smile
To laugh
Because I've been hurt all throughout 2007

2008 has got to be better
It just has to be
Please tell me it is
Because I can't take much more
