A Mother's Love (sestina format)

by dare2desire   Mar 12, 2008

A mother's love is very deep,
Although sometimes she lacks in sleep.
She loves it when her babay peeps,
An outstrecthed arm; for her hair he'll reach.
Right from wrong she'll always teach.
An unbreakable bond between mother and baby.

In her arms, she rocks her baby.
His cry fades as his eyes become deep.
She smiles as he falls asleep,
He takes a sigh, but doesnt peep,
Her ultimate joy is finally reached.
Her life could not be more complete.

As he grows mother will teach-
Manners to her baby.
A scrape on his chin and mud on his knees,
He doesn't want to go to sleep.
Mother says bed; he grumbles and peeps.
For a kiss and a hug goodnight he'll reach.

First day of school is not far from reach,
Reading and writing the teacher will teach.
Look what happened to mother's baby.
His legs grew long and his voice became deep,
After his day he comes home and sleeps.
With pride filled tears mother lets out a peep.

Cheering him on she shrieks and peeps,
Mother's allstar is going deep!
He leaps in the air; "Reach! Reach!"
Good sportsmanship mother will teach.
Her young man is no longer a baby.
Exhausted from play he falls asleep.

Today is the day the angels won't sleep.
Bells in the church ding dong and peep.
Mother's son in love fell deep,
For his bride's finger he'll reach.
With tears of joy mother weeps,
She dances with her baby.

Although her job is now complete,
Mother's love still runs deep.
A man has become of her baby.
