Never that simple

This last year brought so many things,
Many new relationships a world of experiences,
Sometimes i fell too fast,
Didn't know what was true,
How i was really feeling,
Day after day was so blue,
Had many guys who cared for me,
Yet deep down only wanted one,
But he was so out of reach,
That i went for next best thing,
Sometimes risking it all on something that wasn't true,
Although those sparks continue,
I know nothing can come of this,
We had our chances together,
Never did we go the distance,
Now i'm happy with my guy,
A circle has been completed,
The one i can't have rarely crosses my mind,
And when he does,
I know it's this way for a reason,
For love is never that simple.
