Over

by Thoughtless Consideration   Mar 13, 2008

Ripped your heart, can't decide between greed or spite.
Crying in my sleep- I'm not really doing all right.

Bitter words, don't they pierce you at all?
Or do they leave you feeling giddy, leave you enthralled?
Insult after insult, I'm sure it builds you up quite a bit,
You probably dance inwardly as you issue hit after hit.

Doesn't hurt me much any more, I'm getting over you.
Bad habits helped me, bad habits all right, but they got me through.
Hatred directed towards you is what kept me alive,
Angry apathy and resentment are what made me thrive.

Irony eats me up, you don't know how this feels.
Falling to pieces, ripping apart childish ideals.
Kindness is naivety to you, something that doesn't exist.
Are my eyes screaming too loudly? Well too bad for you , but so is this fist.

Try so hard to let it go,
Wear long sleeves, don't let it show;
What am I hiding from you? Why am I ashamed of my heart?
You thought it wouldn't hurt, when I said we must part?

Been ages since I've written a love poem,
And it's been YEARS since I've felt at home.

You did this to me, it wasn't my fault.

I'm done with you,

Done with this assault.

They say what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger. I wish I was as strong as you were.

God farah, I wish I had an ounce of your talent.

but yeah, this poem is... beautiful and soo sad. I can relate so much to this you have no idea. I love these lines:

Insult after insult, I'm sure it builds you up quite a bit,
You probably dance inwardly as you issue hit after hit.

    they are amazing.

    you need to write more!
