I've spent my whole life running away,
trying to live up to some imaginary ever-raising bar of success.
now don't get me wrong,
there is nothing wrong with wanting to be successful.
the problem, I've found, is in not looking back.
to know where you are,
you must know where you've been.
to understand who you are,
you must understand where it is you came from.
the key to a happy, well adjusted life,
is to take a moment, pause and reflect.
to stop and take a look around
at where you are, where you have been and where you are going.
its important to be proud of who and where you are,
but its equally important to be proud of who and where you are from.
for a man who hides his past,
is doomed to fall victim to it.
so i say, embrace it all.
roll around in it until you are as equally comfortable with yesterday as today.
and tomorrow will take care of itself...
