Five minutes ago

He forgot to call me back
this has only happened once and it was because his grandfather died
otherwise he always remembers i start to worry when 10 o'clock rolls around because he knows i can't talk on the phone after ten
i fall asleep waiting for a text or something to know he's okay
when i wake up the next morning i have a voicemail
it is from his mom she says "don't freak out but Adam is in the hospital."
how am i not supposed to freak out about that?
"he is fine but he has a broken arm and a mild concusion."
when i call her back i say,"can i go visit him if he's up for it?"
she says "no" because he passed away five minutes ago
all i can do is break down and cry what else is there to
do?
