The ocean and a girl

by StandStill   Mar 14, 2008

On a moonlit night
summer begins to fad away
and a girl walks alone on cool sand
listening to soft waves reminds her of that day

she used to love him
a beautiful boy
but he played her
used her heart like his personal toy

they used to walk
side by side
and in him
her secrets she'd confide

they used to leave footprints
on the beache's sand
as they walked through the midnight
hand in hand

she thought it was forever
that it would never end
for not only was he her lover
he was her only friend

but once upon a times
don't exist in real life
and they were torn apart
reality a biting knife

so now a lonely girl
is walking bitter on the sand
knowing he'll never be there
to hold her cold hand

she needs the pain inside her
to stop, to cease
she's searching for a way
a silent release

her head is screaming
she throws herself down on the sand
she can't shake the feeling
of his warm hand

but his tenderness grew cold
she knows this in her head
and she wishes for a way
a way that she could be dead

she hears the oceans soft pure waves
and an idea does appear
slowly, coldly
on her face appears a tear

no noose for this girl
not a single shot
nor a bloody razor
nothing scalding hot

a simple way to kill the pain
would be to drown it in the waves
the moonlight clears her way for her
and she follows the path it paves

to the waters edge she walks
her inner demons cry
they know now
the fear of death, to die

and with one prayer
she throws herself down
a heartbroken girl
the ocean does drown
