The Signs

by Amy   May 21, 2004

Silence
no one dares speak
as they move along
the floorboards creak

Some one whimpers
lets out a cry
tears of despair
cuz they missed the signs

These things now seem obvious
as shes carried to her grave
but they lie to themselves
and try to be brave

But they know in their hearts
its all their fault
that now shes gone
sealed in her vault

She always cried
she hardly ate
always saying
soon it would be too late

Cuts and bruises
upon her arm
they all knew
she caused herself harm

Fits of anger
withdrawal from friends
pushing ppl away
longing for the end

Taking drugs
staying out all night
running away
always in fights

These are the signs
that are now so clear
she wanted u to help her
and take away her fears

But now as u lay her
6 feet under the ground
no one speaks
not a sound

On her coffin
you place one single rose
take one final look
then in the ground it goes

Unaware
she is watching from up high
one single tear
rolls down from her eye

She whispers to the wind
The fault isn't mine
if only you had noticed
the tragic signs
