I saw you after school today
I tried to say hello
I was almost there when suddenly
I stopped dead in my tracks
I don't know what came over me
I just couldn't do it

then suddenly you turned around
you smiled and said hi
I said hi back and you came near
I could feel my fear rising
I didn't know what to do

I closed my eyes and prayed real hard
I ask God for a clue
something that says you like me
or something I could do

when I opened my eyes
you were gone
I felt I'd missed my chance

then out of nowhere I got this feeling
it made me run to find you

when I caught up I said I love you
and then I walked away
