Wind Turns to Ash

"Wind Turns to Ash"
Written by: Red Lady

Inside my head
I spin around
Walking around and wondering why on earth I'm here.

Simply a thought...
I want to sleep.
Believe me when I say that I never want to wake.

Silence is speaking
Into my mind...
When I find I want it -- it just flies away.

I tried to smile. Tried to be kind...
When did my life become something else I must endure?

I see a soul
Bright in my midst
Disintegrating every thought I had before.

Hair long and flowing
Slender and fine
Suddenly I see that her gaze is upon me

Breath fails to succor
Heart starts to race
Beautiful, angelic, as she walks eternal grace.

She showed me how to smile
Taught me how to be kind
And all along she did not know that she was doing this.

Anticipation...Desiring her love...
One night I whispered that I deeply cared for her.

I thought she'd run
Thought she would fade
But instead she took my hand and looked into my eyes...

That moment I stirred...
I knew I was alive.
Tingling sensations took my breath away from me.

"Forever, I'll love you." That is what she spoke.
Tenderly our tears had come to whisper to our souls

Later that month
We sat on the grass
Underneath a tree, relaxed, we stared at the sunset.

Same time next week,
Different tears did speak
I was exiled from that place and could not see her face

I longed to feel her...
I'm sure she felt the same.
Now Three years we have to wait just to hear each other's voice...

I feel now she loves me
I know that she cares...
I cannot wait until our hourglass has run its course.

Burn this Separation
Sear it into ash
I just want to know she's safe and know her love is well.
