Will you just get off my back,
Can't you see you're smothering me?,
Control is not something I lack,
I'm lashing out, you won't let me be,

I do have potential, but it's blocked,
You won't let me have time to think,
And when I yell, you act shocked,
As if I'm the one who needs a shrink,

I'll run away, to open your eyes,
I might find my way back one day,
But if I do, I'll wear a disguise,
Not that you would ever care anyway,

Maybe I'll leave and never return,
Then I won't be a burden to you anymore,
Because I know you'll never learn,
To have any feelings, or rapport,

You're losing what you should've held dear,
All because you wanted to have authority,
You might even realize when I'm not here,
That I should've been your highest priority.
