Fight Filled Nights

by Brittney Follett   Mar 16, 2008

On the phone she puts on a careful tone,
Crying softly to let him know she's upset
She's silently curses herself, No not again.
"What did I do wrong? I've tried my best."

She asks herself: does he even care?

A fierce tone inside his voice, she begs,
"Please, I'm sorry, I don't want to fight."
The anger is slowly tearing her apart
Tear-filled pillows, just like every night.

Apologies ignored, mistakes unforgiven.

"Whatever, I've got to go to bed now."
They both say I love you, goodnight.
But at that moment it seems untrue.
It seems hard for her to do whats right.

Once he's gone she lies on the floor.

Are they drifting apart? What can she do?
She loves him so much, but does he?
How long will she be able to hold out?
"Who knows, whatever, we will see."

Crying on the floor, she accepts the truth.
