Another little girl

by StandStill   Mar 17, 2008

A little girl
with tears in her eyes
upon her bed
she sits and cries

she tries
to pretend
cuz when she's sad
it worries her friends

but when she's all alone
in the middle of the night
she knows she's not ok
she's not alright

and she doesn't know why
she is that way
she doesn't know why
she fake-smiles through the day

all she knows
is that she does it well
and all she knows
her life was hell

sure her family's nice
and she has sweet friends
but nobody understood
no ears were there to lend

so in the middle of the night
she would think
if i died, would anybody miss me?
through her days, this was the common link

and every day
she smiled nice
so as not to worry
her "beauty" did entice

but she knew she was alone
though surrounded by friends
and all she wanted
was the pain to end

so now a little girl
dies far too young
because the pain in her
was far too strung

I know one "little girl" like this. She used to be my best friend, Sarah. I remember her when I read this. :)
