Let Our Conscience Be Our Guide

by Michael D Nalley   Mar 17, 2008

Whatever we consciously decide
Let our conscience be our guide?
From where does conscience come?
Why is conscience extinct to some?

Is our conscience all our own?
As if we are here alone?
Would that make the inspired word,
Just practically absurd?

Does the conscience call only to the just?
Is our conscience the only thing we trust?
Is the state of our mind the state of our soul?
Or is our heart's desire our universal goal?

If we let our conscience be our guide
Why should we ever run and hide
From the moral laws we make
Seemingly only to break

Laws were made for man and not man for laws
With our conscience guiding us to the right cause
The moral science is more than cause and effect
It is the supernatural rules we can accept or reject
