Druss

I don't recall a memory
i merge into your world
and i long for you to see me
when i step into the whirl
of crimson colours in the air
laced with silver chimes of laughter
your world where there's no care
for what comes before or after

when i join you in this world
i lie my head on your lap
stare up at the patterns hurled
at the ceiling, like a map
my fingers trace the cigarette marks
in the carpet by your knee
candle glow flutter in the dark
amber lullabies lull me to tranquility

i travel to your world in my mind
my senses scream it's all surreal
but the warmth i always find..
there's nothing more real
your eyes are always open
we talk about a thousand things
yet the words are never spoken
and it all seems like a dream

i go there to escape from here
breath in the glowing quietness
i surrender just to be near
content with our speechlessness
melted wax make rivulets
saffron twilight sink
in my hand an amulet
dampness on my cheek

i'm here and i'm not here
as i trace the lines of me
your silhouette always quietly bent
over the bowl at your feet
i want to throw my wrists at yours
press my face to your legs
instead i stand in the door
as consciousness return to flesh
