Marsh

by StandStill   Mar 18, 2008

Running through a marshy swamp
with willows all around
swish swish gluck
such monotone sound

I can see a girl
running along
her heart is filled with terror
not a joyful song

she keeps stumbling
trip and fall
she bites her lips
so as to not scream, not call

what is following her
i don't know
but whatever it is
has only one thing it wants to do

i know it wants to kill her
the girl in the water
and she's starting to give up
she knows her life doesn't matter

she stumbles once again
but this time does not rise
she sits in the murky water
defeat in her eyes

and slowly the fear does wrap
her in it's crushing grip
and slowly away from me
the image does slip

all i know
is all i see
that girl died in that marsh
and that girl was me

*real dream...*
