Through The Piano (Sonnet)

by Paige   Mar 18, 2008

Today she adjusts to a minor key,
As everyone dances and sings along.
Though it's a cry of hidden misery,
They hear her music, but neglect her song.

Eloquence drowns in the euphonic sea.
Her pain lies masked under a thick disguise.
The charming tune tunes out her implied plea.
It stifles and smothers her oblique cries.

Silence takes over. Her song fades away.
Ignorant to her grief, they were entranced.
Concealing the hurt, she could never say,
It was to her pain they all sang and danced.

Since they never listened, they will never know
That she had shown her sorrow through the piano
