The ghost of you

When somethings apart of your daily life
then suddenly taken away
the memories of the past seem to come alive
with the awaking of every day

i hear a song we've talked about
you know the one i mean
i just can't take it, the station gets changed
still can't escape the ghost of you

when things are slow, i sit and think
you said you know about " thinking moods"
so many things there that make me smile
still can't escape the ghost of you

i'm driving along on the roads we travel
there you are , we wave while passing by
so the past gets resurrected once again
still can't escape the ghost of you

your numbers been erased from my phone
only to be put back once again
many times i've dialed, then hung up
still can't escape the ghost of you

the ghost of you will never leave
its trapped forever in my mind
the ghost of me, has it been freed
or is it trapped with you in time?

    These words really hit home with me. When we lose someone we care dearly for the memoriesd always linger.

    the ghost of you will never leave
    its trapped forever in my mind
    the ghost of me, has it been freed
    or is it trapped with you in time?

    This stanza is so beautiful and heartfelt. It sums up the entire piece.
