Homophobia!!!!!!!!!!!

by she   Mar 19, 2008

To all the homophobic people,
tell me what if the whole world was gay and you wanted to be straight?
would you hide your attraction,
submit to conformity, at the price of never finding love?!
tell me what if everyday you were beaten,
everyday you were bullied,
everyday you felt so ashamed, but simply couldn't change, would you still say "it's a choice"
to all the homophobic people come live a day in our shoes.
to realize that you're not the same, you're gay, that God won't accept you, neither will your Friends or even your family.
to all the homophobic people your hateful words cut deep,
and many of the scars you leave only show through statistics 1 in every 20 suicides is a gay or lesbian teen who just couldn't take the pain of being gay.
to all the homophobic people,
again i say before you open up your hateful, judging mouth,
what if the whole world was gay, and you were born straight?

not really statistics, but a lot of gays commit suicide

The title caught my attention, so I figured I would check it out :) But very good write. It is so real and true. It is so hard for society to just accept you for who you are. I'm a lesbian and I really appreciate you writing something like this. Nice voice as well. 5/5.

Finally! someone had the courage to pose these questions. why can't we all just breathe love and acceptance? besides, the world would be terribly dull if we were all alike. the only line i disagree with is God's unacceptance of homosexuals. the only way i would accept the word "choice" is if you agreed with me that it is God's choice and reason for creating us differently, including gays.

the reptition of the last question was mindblowing. nicely done and well put. awesome write. 5/5 i would love it if you ever have the opportunity some time to comment/vote one of my poems.
