The Monster (Describing Depression)

by Unseen Exposure   May 22, 2004

It seeps in your skin,
And hides in pours’ cracks,
People turn away from you,
All you see are their backs,

Depression plays with your mind,
And sneaks up behind you,
Following your every move,
Beyond darkness and through,

The nightmare within you,
Taking over your soul,
Burrowing in your heart,
Deepening a hole,

It sneaks up your spine,
And spills in your veins,
Yes- that is depression,
The reason for pain,

Depression it is,
And your life pays the toll,
Beware- for once it’s arisen,
It begins gripping its hold.
