Burn

by Melissa   Mar 20, 2008

Sometimes at night when everything is quiet
I crawl within the walls of my sanctuary
And wait for everything to fall back into place
And it's so dark in there
I cannot see my hand in front of me
It's so cold that I become numb
I cry and the tears that do fall
Is the only warmth that I have!
I am alone and I am tired
Without anything useful
The only thing I have is this lighter
Sometimes at night when everything is quite
I crawl within the walls of my sanctuary
And I scream
And I think good thoughts of a better life
I know I will never have that
So I take the lighter and I burn my jacket
And everything around me caches on fire
And I see where I am
The wall are covered with hateful words
The fire is gleaming in my eyes
As I watch everything burn
And I am brought back from my sanctuary
My jacket is burning
And everything is burning around me
And I just sit and cry
Maybe I'll go back for a while.
