Rippling Red Rhetoric

by RainbowSlider   Mar 21, 2008

The night had been long and hectic.
Then she came rippling red rhetoric.
A red herring fish if ever a saw one.
But far be it from me to make fun.

Her words seemed serious and spice.
She came from upstream; Oh, how nice.
Eyes of green and red cayenne hair.
Maybe just a mermaid; Not quite there.

But after we parted; Being just a trout;
I studied what she said to figure it out.
And her words made a rippling effect.
Logical yes but I thought what the heck.

Rhetorical infatuation or was it just me?
Was I just hearing what I wanted it to see?
A rainbow-trout and a red herring; I'll be?
Perplexed I was by the all the irregularity.

I swished my tail and rejoined the school.
I wasn't about to be this red herring's fool.
I have evaded the net and I am not just bait.
Maybe if she'd came earlier and not this late.
