Shooting star

Shooting star up in the sky
oh how you shine so bright
I make a wish when you come by
in hopes it will come true

my friends all think I'm stupid
because I made a wish
but deep down inside I really know
they all made one too

I lay down and look at the stars
so bright in the night
I think of what is out there
and what we may soon find

but for right now I will sit
and I will watch the stars
in hopes that you will come again
