Pinocchio And The Squirrel

by RainbowSlider   Mar 22, 2008

While Pinocchio was just walking one day.
A red squirrel came out on a limb to play.
A nut shell she was eating fell on his head.
He said, "Ouch but kept on walking ahead.

She ran across on the limbs watching him.
She broke off a leaf and threw him a stem.
Didn't know what to do about the crazy squirrel.
Especially when she told him she was a real girl.

Pinocchio remembering when he was just wood.
Paused to reflect and suddenly understood.
The puppet masters brought them together.
And all the nuts he helped her to gather.

He told her how he became a real boy.
And she listened intently to his story.
She didn't belittle him like others.
Didn't make fun of him he discovered.

He held out his hand and she nuzzled.
And soon he was no longer puzzled.
A friend with whom he could relate.
It was a wonderful fantasy date.
