Ritual

by WrittenInTheStars   Mar 23, 2008

Her thoughts are racing,
concentrated on the next time
she will be able to
begin the cycle.

Her mom pulls out of the drive way,
her father closely follows.
The timing couldn't be any better
for her secret ritual.

She dashes down the stairs,
and makes her way into the kitchen.
She grabs everything,
cookies, crackers, chips,
anything.

She eats it as quickly as she can
rinsing everything down with a bottle of water.
She runs to the bathroom to rid herself
of the impurities that reside within her.

Once the deed is done,
she flushes and returns to her room,
and carries on through the day
as if nothing had ever happened.

Aww, I could see these things happening, but so quickly. Usually the person eats for hours and hours before they feel like they need to purge, right? That was really my only thought on this poem. But I thought it was really good, too. 5/5

*I already rrc Happy Birthday Bulimia, so I did this one instead. :)

I liked this poem because it had the "realness" to it if you know what i mean. I can't imagine going through this. 5/5 =)

I notice that all your poems [so far] are about bulimia, and I just want to say I'm really sorry if you are having to suffer with this disease. I honestly don't really know what to say about this poem, because I cannot really relate to it. I can't say it's a bad poem, because it comes from your own personal feelings and experiences, and I have no right to judge you on that.

I just say well done for being able to express your emotions on this subject, and once again, I hope you get better. :]
