Build A Bear, Make A Wish

by Dee   Mar 23, 2008

I've been chasing imaginary rainbows
And wishing on shooting stars
I made a new years resolution
The promise of a brand new start

On this past New Years Day
I went to Build A Bear
To select a little reminder
Of the visions that are clear

Tucking one of my most cherished wishes
Inside of a world of make believe
Deep inside of that stuffed animal
Is the answer to my dreams

Call it fate or circumstance
I hold on to every chance
To escape the hell I am living in
For a life of true love and romance

Every time life lets me down
I remember that special day
When I picked out the heart covered doggie
That I thought would help me find my way

But here I sit months later
Still looking into its eyes
Getting lost in a moment
I become so mesmerized

Dreaming of the days ahead
Knowing what life could hold
The welcoming of bright new days
And the burial of the old and cold

Cobwebs fill my heart
Just like that cobwebs that fill my walls at home
How many more sunshine filled days
Will I wake up sad and all alone

Feeling like there is nobody
That really cares for me
Feeling used up and abused
Is what my life turned out to be

Although I have many gifts
That I am thankful for
There is so much still missing
Important things I cannot ignore

So as I look at Diva Dog
My Build a Bear New Year's solution
I realize what I need to do
To honor my resolution

Stay tuned.....................
